Instructions „Attaching protective PP sheets to windows and doors“.
Glass pins from PPPlatten.de can be used to quickly attach protective covers made of PP corrugated sheets to windows and other smooth surfaces.
Attention! Never do this without an underlay patch!
Never stick the pins directly onto windows, framesor other surfaces!
Always apply a removable underlay patch or low tack adhesive tape first!
The adhesive directly on the pins binds very strongly and can no longer be removed without residue after a short time!
White for indoors, yellow for outdoors
The white underlay patches are only suitable for use in areas that are not not exposed to the weather, i.e. inside on window panes and other surfaces.
For use in areas exposed to the weather, only use the yellow adhesive patches supplied by us.
Observe minimum temperatures
At low temperatures, the adhesive effect of the adhesive patches can diminish significantly. The minimum temperature for applying the adhesive patches is
5 degrees Celsius for the white adhesive patches
10 degrees Celsius for the yellow adhesive patches
Step 1: Clean the surface
Surfaces on the window or other smooth surfaces must be free of dust and grease. It is essential to wait until the cleaning fluids have evaporated, otherwise a reliable adhesive effect cannot be guaranteed.
Step 2: Apply underlay adhesive patch or tape
To ensure that the pins can be removed easily and without leaving residue after the construction phase, a suitable adhesive underlay patch must be applied. The removability of the patch must be tested beforehand for the specific application (type of surface, duration of application, exposure).
Step 3: Sticking on the pin
The glass pin is then stuck onto the adhesive patch or backing tape. Do not stick the glass pins directly onto windows or frames, as the adhesive on the pins sets very strongly and cannot be removed without leaving residue after only a short time.
Step 4: Attach the corrugated sheets
The corrugated sheets can be attached directly to the glass pins. To ensure good positioning, it is advisable to work in pairs for larger plates.
Step 5: Put on the locking washer
To secure the plates, a self-locking metal lock washer is then placed on the glass pin.
Step 6: Attach protective cap
Finally, a protective cap made of plastic is attached to the pin to prevent injuries.
